What You Will Be Doing
•Evaluate network changes to support the growth and stability of the core network and end users
•Implement customer change activities as prescribed by Network Engineering or NOC Level II to include managing change documentation to ensure network and customer information is always current
•Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve Layer 1, 2, and 3 problems related to hardware, software, or protocols issues
•Work trouble and change tickets effectively and efficiently; Interact with NOC Agents, Engineering, Outside staff, Vendors, and Customers to facilitate quick resolution of issues in accordance with established processes
•Remotely provision customer and network services
•Implement customer change activities as prescribed by Network Engineering or NOC Level II to include managing change documentation to ensure network and customer information is always current
•Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve Layer 1, 2, and 3 problems related to hardware, software, or protocols issues
•Work trouble and change tickets effectively and efficiently; Interact with NOC Agents, Engineering, Outside staff, Vendors, and Customers to facilitate quick resolution of issues in accordance with established processes
•Remotely provision customer and network services
What You Need for this Position
At Least 3 Years of experience and knowledge of:
•Experience working in a 24/7 NOC environment
•Solarwinds, Netcool, or WhatsUp Gold
•Troubleshooting & resolving transport related probs
•Troubleshooting Sonus Layer 2 routing protocols
•Troubleshooting Sonus Layer 3 routing protocols
•Knowledge of firewalls and network security protocols
•Individuals with a strong Cisco background will also be considered.
